How to Read Betting Odds
Bangladeshi bettors generally see odds in three formats. Understanding each one makes it easier to make decisions.
Decimal Odds (most common)
Shows the total return — including the stake. Example: 2.50 means a ৳100 bet returns ৳250 (৳150 profit). The higher the number, the less likely the bookmaker considers a win.
Example 1 — Team A to win, bet ৳200:
Decimal 2.50 = Fractional 3/2 = American +150
If you win, total return is ৳500 (৳300 profit + ৳200 stake). If you lose, ৳200 is gone.
Fractional Odds
Shown as a fraction representing profit only; the stake is returned separately. 3/2 means ৳3 profit on a ৳2 bet. Odds for a favourite are usually a fraction below 1.
Example 2 — Team B (favourite), bet ৳200:
Decimal 1.25 = Fractional 1/4 = American -400
If you win, total return is ৳250 (৳50 profit). American minus odds show how much you need to stake to make ৳100 profit.
American Odds
Plus (+) means how much profit you make on a ৳100 bet. Minus (-) means how much you need to bet to make ৳100 profit. +150 means ৳150 profit on a ৳100 bet; -400 means a ৳400 stake for ৳100 profit.
